Joining a class with an invitation link

A teacher or tutor can send you a personal invitation link. Opening it is how you get added to their class — no class code to type in, no roster to search.

If you're not signed in

The link sends you to sign in (or create a student account) first. The invitation itself isn't shown until you're signed in — this keeps the class name private from anyone who finds the link by accident.

If you're signing in as a student, you're added to the class automatically the moment you're signed in — there's no extra step to confirm.

What joining shows you

If you're not a student (for example, you're a parent or you're already signed in as a non-student), you'll see a preview before joining: the class name, subject, teacher, and school, plus what joining actually shares:

Your teacher will see your name, the work you complete in this class, and your progress in it. They will not see your work in other classes, or anything you make privately.

Joining a class doesn't change anything else about your account, and it doesn't show you a roster or other students' names.

If you're a parent with children linked to your account, you'll be asked who is joining — yourself or one of your children. Adding a child enrols them, not you.

If the link doesn't work

You might see a message explaining why:

• The invitation has expired or has been withdrawn by the teacher
• It's already been used the maximum number of times
• The class isn't accepting new members right now
• This account can't join a class directly (this can happen for some account types)

In any of these cases, ask your teacher for a new link rather than retrying the old one. Already in the class? Opening the link again just shows you're already a member, with a shortcut to open the class.
